The ocean needs more people fighting for its future. But there is only one ocean conservation nonprofit on the planet built to represent the voice of the global diving community. That’s the PADI AWARE Foundation. As the conservation partner of PADI®, we mobilize the world’s largest community of divers into action. Through local conservation programs and citizen science initiatives, we ensure divers are represented in the global conversations and policy decisions shaping the future of the ocean. Because the future of diving and the future of our oceans are inseparable. PADI AWARE represents divers and ocean advocates at some of the world’s most important conservation forums and decision-making spaces, including CITES, the UN Global Plastics Treaty, Sharks International, World UN Ocean Conference, and numerous other global forums shaping the future of ocean protection. Divers Witness Ocean Change Firsthand. As divers we see coral reef decline, marine debris on our sea floor, and alarming changes in marine life and biodiversity. We witness what’s happening beneath the surface in ways most people never will. That perspective matters. In partnership with our global dive community, data collected through programs like Dive Against Debris®, the AWARE Global Shark & Ray Census, the AWARE Biodiversity Survey, and Adopt the Blue™ helps strengthen scientific research, inform policy decisions, and support protections for vulnerable marine ecosystems and species.
