Take a moment to reflect on the ocean’s vital role in our lives and to take bold action to protect it. The ocean connects us, sustains life on Earth, and inspires every dive we take. But with growing threats like climate change, plastic pollution and biodiversity loss, the need for collective action has never been more urgent.
At PADI and PADI AWARE, we’re proud to help lead the global movement that’s turning passion into measurable impact. Together with the dive community, we have aided over 35,000 entangled marine animals and reported more than 2.4 million pieces of marine debris to inform groundbreaking research that is helping to create healthier and cleaner oceans, helped establish nearly 3000 Adopt the Blue™ sites worldwide and accelerated local conservation efforts through the PADI AWARE Community Grant Program.
This World Ocean Day, we invite you to dive deeper. Explore new tools. Join purpose-driven programs. Discover simple ways to protect what you love-because every action, no matter how small, helps power a healthier ocean for generations to come.
Just Launched: The Conservation Action Portal
The PADI AWARE Foundation’s new Conservation Action Portal (CAP) is a one-stop digital hub designed to empower the global dive community to take meaningful conservation action—on every dive. Built to accelerate the PADI Blueprint for Ocean Action, CAP streamlines access to PADI AWARE’s flagship initiatives—Dive Against Debris®, Adopt the Blue™, the Global Shark & Ray Census, and more—enabling Dive Centers, Professionals, and recreational divers to easily submit citizen science data, participate in localized campaigns, and track conservation impact in real time.
