As Ocean Torchbearers, we witness firsthand the escalating threats to our blue planet. From coral bleaching to overfishing and pollution, the challenges can feel overwhelming.
But we are a community of millions of passionate PADI Divers and Ocean Torchbearers with a once-in-a-generation opportunity to address one of the biggest issues impacting ocean health. Together, backed by the largest underwater citizen science database, we can put in place a legal instrument to end plastic pollution for good.
This Is a Pivotal Moment!
In March 2022, 175 countries under the United Nations Environment Assembly (UNEA) committed to a legally binding treaty to end plastic pollution. These critical discussions will continue through 2025.
The ongoing data submitted by divers as part of PADI AWARE Foundation’s Dive Against Debris program has brought the diving community to the negotiation table, giving the ocean an elevated voice.
We need your action to ensure these negotiations lead to real solutions. Sign and share our petition for a strong Global Plastics Treaty. Together, we can help end the marine debris crisis once and for all.
