Belize'S SECOND ANNUAL INTERNATIONAL MUSIC AND FOOD FESTIVAL
The first festival was such a success, we had to do it a second time! At the BTB's signature event, cultural touchstones from all across this beautiful country are brought together in one place for both locals and visitors to enjoy. Held in Belize City on July 29 and 30, you can dance to the rhythms of artists, bands, and DJs from both Belize and abroad. And local vendors will be offering up authentic food and drinks that represent every corner of our beloved country.
Starting July 1 and running through next February, it's officially lobster season in Belize. So if you crave this clawed crustacean, now is the time to visit. Not only will local restaurants be serving up this sumptuous delicacy on their menus, but some places will even be offering lobster crawls. On these delicious outings, hungry lobster lovers can get their fill and then some as they visit one eatery after the next, all offering up this tasty treat in various ways.
Belize is a world-class diving destination for a reason - many reasons, actually. Not least of all is the Great Blue Hole, one of the most famous dive sites in the world. This otherworldly environment is home to shallow reefs, rare bacteria, and even stalactites.
Half Moon Caye offers views of the most beautiful marine flora and fauna in the world, as well as a chance to surface and explore the nearby island on foot. Other popular underwater wonders include Glover's Atoll, Shark Ray Alley, South Water Caye Marine Reserve, and Wit Turneffe, home to the country's largest wreck dive.
The country's crown jewel of dive sites has to be the 10,000-year-old, 185-mile-long Belize Barrier Reef. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is the second-longest barrier reef in the world and is home to over 500 species of fish. This stunningly beautiful destination must be seen to be believed.
Located on the northern coastal plain of Belize lies this 20-mile wildlife sanctuary. Started in 1985, the sanctuary is home to more than a thousand howler monkeys, as well as birds and other mammals. Lovers of indigenous wildlife can take a tour offered by trained guides and hike through the rainforest for an experience like no other.
As of May 5, 2023, the World Health Organization ended the global emergency status for COVID-19. This makes escaping to our shores easier than ever before. There is no need to provide proof of vaccination or to purchase Belize Travel Health Insurance.
