This AWARE Week and beyond, there’s a growing number of ways you can get involved - fins on or off - to protect marine life and defend ocean ecosystems, wherever you are in the world and whatever your circumstances. To all qualified divers in our community; you are uniquely positioned to gather data on marine debris that no other community can, paving the way towards critical improvements in global waste management policy. We’ve already surpassed 2 million pieces! If you’re a marine animal advocate, Green Fins provides valuable guidance on low-impact ocean exploration, applicable to freedivers, snorkelers and mermaids too. For some fun and insightful listening, check out Ocean Sisters in UAE podcast by Ocean Torchbearers Chloe Griffin (PADI MSDT Instructor) and Elaine Froggett (PADI Divemaster). They explain,   “The purpose of this podcast is to inspire and educate divers and non-divers about scuba diving and ocean conservation across the United Arab Emirates.” No matter your diver status, this month please consider a donation to help us reach our $30,000 fundraising goal to protect critical shark and ray habitats with our newly launched Adopt the Blue program. To date, our community has already helped protect 54 species! Plus, if you donate $50 or more between 1 - 30 September 2022 you’ll get a limited edition cap (pictured below).
