In response to this, the Eco Center program was launched in 2023 having since been rated Condé Nast’s #2 Travel Trend for 2024 and now also earned PADI a recognition for being one of the most innovative Travel Companies in 2024.

Women PADI Pros Changing the Face of the Dive Industry
Scuba diving is one of the most unfiltered, exciting and rewarding ways to experience our blue planet. Indeed, we believe in the great and equalizing power of the ocean to help, heal, challenge and change people. While women represent a little less than 40% of all divers worldwide, there’s still a notable gender gap when it comes to professional diving: women currently represent only 20% of all PADI Pros. That’s lower than in medicine (34%), the legal profession (38%) and financial services (less than 33%).
We’ll explore potential reasons behind this gap and ways to address it. Furthermore, we’ll talk with some of the female PADI Pros leading that shift.

Thanks to the support of PADI Torchbearers like you, in 2023: 27,683 citizen scientists removed over 106,000 pounds of debris from the ocean, 34,829 entangled animals were aided, 1,911sites were adopted across 109 countries for conservation action, and more than USD$500,000 has been funded to directly support local ocean protection projects across 15 countries. And much more to come in 2024!
